In 1947 when Tahir Mohammad decided to migrate to Pakistan, the burning question cropped up where should Jamia Urdu may be located In the meantime Syed Zahiruddin Alvi came in forefront and in 1948 Jamia Urdu was transferred to A ligarh. Jamia Urdu shifted in the present building on January 8, 1960. After failure of the first war of independence in 1857, Muslims in India became a shattered lot. They were psychologically broken. At that time Sir Syed Ahmad Khan embarked upon his educational mission and established MAO College in 1875 which later was incorporated into the Aligarh Muslim University in 1920. Though Sir Syed Ahmad Khan and his associates had established only a College but their Aligarh Movement lighted a lamp of education and knowledge.
The courses of Jamia Urdu Aligarh are recognized by Government of India, by the office Memorandum No. 14021 / 2 / 78-Estt. (D) dated 28 June 1978 of Ministry of Home Affairs / Home Ministry (Department of Personnel and Administrative Reforms).
10th/ADEEB (High School) - Secondary Level
ADEEB is equivalent to 10th (High School) as recognized by Govt. of India and is approved by several Indian and other universities for higher education. This course is suitable for all embassy attestation. Learners above the age of 14 years can apply for this course. In this course, students must choose six subjects with three Language Subjects from Group A (With Urdu and English as compulsory subjects and one Regional Language as optional subjects) and three compulsory subjects from Group B. This course can also be completed as a private course and the digital study material and other facilities for contact classes for all subjects will be provided by the institution.
12th/ADEEB-E-MAHIR (Intermediate) - Senior Secondary Level
ADEEB-E-MAHIR is a 1-year senior secondary program equivalent to 12th standard (Intermediate), as recognized by the Govt. of India. This course has been approved by several Indian and other universities for higher education and is suitable for all embassy attestation. Students above 16 years of age who have successfully passed 10th/Adeeb/Secondary must submit a self-attested copy of their Secondary Certificate to gain admission to the Adeeb-e-Mahir course. The course has three streams (Arts / Commerce / Science) from which students can choose their preferred stream. This course can also be completed as a correspondence course in which digital study material will be provided for all subjects if required.
